August has been a busy month for Ella Jayne, from weekend gigs, practice, and school starting back up. How has she adjusted?
“It’s going to be harder with school and with homework,” she says. “I have prepared by practicing, but warming up can be hard because I don’t always have time to before I sing.”
Naturally, like any 13-year-old girl, Ella Jayne doesn’t always like to be busy on the weekends. She also wants to hang out with her friends and have fun. So, when I have plans already that kind of sucks.”
“It Feels Like Home”
With all of the performances, she has done and will do this month, Ella Jayne is most excited for the August 20th performance at the Family Arena. “I think it’s going to be a big breakthrough and I’m excited about the opportunity. I’m a little nervous but it will be okay,” she smiles.
While looking forward to performing at the Family Arena, Ella Jayne talks about her favorite places to perform. “Not to dis on any places at all, but my favorite would have to be Deerfield’s on Main because I perform there all the time and it feels more like another home over a venue.”
But no matter where she performs, the audience has always been very supportive. “[Audiences] range 30-60, definitely more female because a lot of girls like to have Sundays at wineries. Very hyper audiences.”
Juggling School With Singing Will Be Challenging
With school starting, Ella Jayne agrees “100%” that it will impact her schedule, because she likes to perform. But she recognizes that school is important and is set on focusing on classes.
“I like my school and my classes, so it’s not terrible. It’s hard because it destroys my schedule with all the homework I have coming from a prep school. It’s never really hard stuff, it’s just a lot to do.”
