School is out and that means Ella Jayne is thinking of all the fun things she can do this summer!
“The last few weeks were filled with finals,” she starts. “They weren’t as difficult as I thought they would be, but some were still tough.” To celebrate school being out, Ella Jayne and her friends went to an end-of-the-year celebration. “It was special, to say the least. It was supposed to be in the parking lot but it got moved to the gym because of the weather and the food was alright. I also have a completely different style than what I wear to school due to the strict standards they have as a Christian school, so I was wearing ripped jeans and felt like I looked totally different.” After hanging with her friends and getting a few fun stickers, Ella Jayne was ready for her summer to start!
Summer Camp, Songwriting, And Vacation
This summer, Ella Jayne has some fun plans in store. Starting in June, she will be a camp counselor for her old Montessori school, Oak Haven’s summer camp. “I’m so excited to be a camp counselor there all summer. I’ve really missed seeing my old teachers and the younger students I used to know all grown up.” The camp is an academic camp for primary-age children, featuring fun activities like gardening, playing in the sprinkler, and other camp activities! As a counselor, Ella Jayne will be leading the children to their classes and assisting them with their daily activities.
Before she starts her position as a camp counselor, Ella Jayne is setting off to soak up some sun on the beach. “I’ll be going to Florida with some family, which will be super fun” she told us. Heading down to Destin with her grandmother, Ella will be joined by her five cousins, aunt and uncle, and their parents and looks forward to spending time with all of them.
When asked about her personal goals for the summer, Ella Jayne talks about being able to write a decent song in a decent amount of time. “I may not have a lot of time, but I plan on trying as much as possible between performances, working summer camp, and recording more songs.” Ella also has her friend Melony writing new songs for her that she hopes will be featured on her album so she is excited to collaborate and bring her words to life with music!
When she’s not singing or recording, Ella Jayne continues to enjoy boxing and her piano lessons at MOZINGO. By practicing every day, she has even moved up a few levels in her classical songbook and bettered herself! She sure stays busy even in the summer!

In-between vacations and volunteering her time this summer, Ella Jayne will regularly be performing live with Calvert and Williams at new spots around town. “I really look forward to performing with Calvert and Williams again,” she smiles. “They were amazing to sing with and taught me a lot.” To find out where Ella Jayne will be playing, visit her Facebook page or her website.
