Who is Ella Jayne? Like any twelve/thirteen-year-old, Ella Jayne has a host of interests and hobbies that keep her busy and well-rounded. She isn’t limited to just singing!
Ella Jayne’s Extended Musical Talents
Ella Jayne has played the piano since she was five years old and has stuck with it ever since. While she has not written her own songs, she does like writing dramatic versions of things in her life. But don’t mistake it for personal journaling!
“That lasted for two days!” Ella Jayne laughs. “I just have so many things to do in my life! It doesn’t need to be more dramatic.”
Meeting Amity
What thirteen-year-old girl wouldn’t be without her beloved dog? Meet Amity, a one-year-old pit/pointer mix. Rescued by fosters the day before was supposed to be euthanized, Ella Jayne saw Amity at a convention and immediately applied for Amity’s adoption.
“We were like, ‘Oh, she’s so cute!’ We got an application without my dad knowing. And then we came home and talked to my dad about it, and he was like ‘Ok, sure!’ And then we got her on December 13th.”
Amity absolutely adores the snow—and Ella Jayne’s dad—and is “the fastest dog” Ella Jayne has ever seen. “One day, I was walking her, and she got scared of my best friend, and her collar slipped off, and she started running towards the street, and I caught her by the hind legs right before she ran into the street. So that was scary.”
When asked, Ella Jayne says that if Amity was a singer, she would be Shakira.
Taking Up Boxing
When it comes to sports and other physical activities, Ella Jayne tried several sports before settling on the one that she loves: boxing.
She picked boxing because “Gymnastics didn’t work out” and soccer didn’t appeal. When trying boxing for the first time, her instructor made boxing really fun. “I’ve scared away two people right now! Two people! I scared them away. Nate went away, and so is Nick. They’re both gone. They left me. They betrayed me,” Ella Jayne notes with a flair of drama.
Her friends at school seem impressed:
“My friends at school they’re always like, “What do you do for fun?”, this is my first year at this school; I go, ‘Oh, I do boxing.’ Every single time someone is mean to them, they go, ‘My friend does boxing, you know! She can beat you up!’ I’m like, ‘No one cares, you guys!”
Editing Videos & Pranking
When asked what she does in her free time besides boxing and singing, Ella Jayne says she makes and edits videos and photos. “I love photography.” What kind of videos?
“Funny. Don’t ask. The funny ones are on my Instagram, but it’s private, so. The rest are on VideoShop. I like to edit stuff. I love editing. Love making videos of my grandma. Love it.”
Her grandma, on the other hand, is not a fan of making videos! Especially when Ella Jayne pulls pranks. “It’s what we do. We pranked her. That’s what happens! I think how it started was I put the rubber band on the sink sprayer, and she turned the water on cold.”
